Anne Garland & I left for Mentone, AL on Friday afternoon to set up camp with Will & Sarah Mason for the weekend...
1. Made it through Atlanta rush hour traffic in under two hours.
2. Frida (dog) threw up 4 times in the car on the way up.
3. Set up tent (in the dark and in the rain). A perfect camp adventure.
4. Dinner: veggie burgers and grilled potatoes.
5. Ghost stories.
6. Breakfast: eggs, pancakes, potatoes, tea.
7. Fishing.
8. Hiking in DeSoto State Park.
9. Fishing in the rapids (in the Park).
10. Lunch at the Wildflower Cafe: tomato pies, brunch, and sandwiches.
11. Scrabble back at campsite.
12. Dinner: Black bean couscous w/tomatoes and wine.
13. Campfire: guitars, voices and smores.
14. Early morning fishing.
15. Make tent(s) fit in to too-small bags. It works!
16. Hiking in Little River Canyon & swimming to the Falls.
17. Swimming, jumping off rocks, saw a snake.
18. Take pictures of each other with someone else's camera.
19. Change clothes in parking lot (holding up towels to shield creepy stares).
20. Drive home (sad).
21. Subway lunch.
22. Made it home: Frida doesn't throw up once.
